Wilson completed 9 of 22 passes for 77 yards, but the offence gained only two yards after the break. It was his worst performance of his career, and that, combined with his postgame remarks, led to his benching for Week 12 against the Chicago Bears.

 This season, Zach Wilson has thrown for 1,279 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. As the Jets believe they can compete with the best of teams this year, they felt a change was required to push them forward.

Zach Wilson apologized for his Week 11 comments

Wilson later apologized for his comments, saying:

 “I wanted the opportunity to talk to those guys, really make it from the heart... It's deserved (the criticism), the way that I handled the situation wasn't right and I've got to be a better football player and I've got to be a better leader for these guys..."

 Wilson addressed the entire team on Wednesday, admitting his poor game performance. He also stated that he is not here to serve as a backup quarterback and will do everything in his power to reclaim the team's starting quarterback position.

Meanwhile, Mike White took the field against the Chicago Bears on Sunday and led the team to a 31-10 victory. White wowed everyone with his performance, completing 22 of 28 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns.
